Via680 uses video to educate patients on visits, procedures

A Youngstown startup that set out to help businesses incorporate video into their communications has narrowed its focus on the patient education space. Two-year-old via680, formerly known as BizVeo, sells allows hospitals to create a customizable online portal that pull together video, documentation and user feedback to help patients prepare for upcoming hospital stays or procedures.

Ohio Nurses Association objects to selling Forum Health

The Ohio Nurses Association has objected to selling Forum Health out of bankruptcy court to Community Health Systems in suburban Nashville, Tennessee -- the 11th hour bidder that snatched the Youngstown, Ohio, health system from a privately owned hospital company last week. The nurses' union objected to selling Forum Health to Community Health Systems because it violates work agreements between the union and Youngstown health system, according to the Youngstown Vindicator. The association filed its objection electronically with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Northern District of Ohio on Sunday, the newspaper reported.

Youngstown’s Forum Health reorganizes under bankruptcy protection

Youngstown hospital system Forum Health is reorganizing under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code "in a strategic move to preserve choice and continuity of quality health care in the Mahoning Valley."
